The Temagami experience : recreation, resources, and Aboriginal rights in the Northern Ontario wilderness

Summary: The changing face of Temagami, from the centuries-long homeland of the Temagami Indians to the boys' camps established in the early 1900s, to the logging installations of the mid-twentieth century, this book gives a historical account of the cultural, economic and political developments of the Temagami Forest Reserve in northern Ontario. It discusses federal-provincial efforts to reconcile conflicts between government land use policy and those of the Temagami Objiway Indians and the conservationists.
